Tips for a fun and stress-free Elopement

Hire a Professional Photographer (aka me) 😉

This is one day you’re definitely going to want to remember, so make sure to hire a destination wedding photographer, like myself, who knows their way around elopements. I can capture all of those magical moments and help you pick the best spots for those Insta-worthy shots!

Get Permission

Before you start picking out your desert-inspired wedding attire, make sure to get a special use permit from the National Park Service. It’s a small step that will ensure you have the space for your ceremony and photo ops!

Golden Hour is your Friend

Trust me, you’re going to want to say “I do” during the golden hour. It’s that magical time right before sunset when the light is just perfect. The photos in this post were taken at sunset and we watched the sun slowly go through the mountain peaks and down the horizon. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience.

Dress for Success

The desert can be a little unpredictable, so come prepared! Bring layers to stay cozy once the sun goes down, sunscreen to protect your skin during the day, and lots of water to stay hydrated and keep that skin looking smooth for all of your photos!

Make it Yours!

The best part about eloping? You get to do it your way! Write your own vows, incorporate special rituals, hire a live musician to serenade you as you walk down the aisle, wear comfy clothes, get ready together, I mean truly – do what you want!
